Microwave? Toaster oven? Convection? Help me choose!?
My microwave is dead, and I’m trying to figure out what to get to replace it. I’ve been thinking of buying a toaster oven for a while now, although I don’t really know why to tell you the truth. (Everybody else seems to have one and use it every day.) We use our regular toaster maybe once a week. But, to ask a dumb question, what else can you do with a toaster oven that you can’t do with a microwave? Also, I’ve read that it’s not always easy to find a toaster oven that makes regular toast well?
I use the microwave for cooking popcorn, heating up frozen veggies, re-heating drinks and leftovers, and cooking the occasional frozen meal. If I can use a toaster oven for all these, plus some other cool stuff that I’m not aware of, maybe that’s the route I should go? I’m looking at all these combo-type machines and am completely overwhelmed!!!!!! What about convection….worth it???
My price range is $100 – 150. Please name brands & models if there’s one you love! THANKS!

Yeah, my budget requires the use of the cheapo microwave in conjunction with the use of the regular oven grill feature to toast.
The combination convections/broiler/toaster/microwaves seem to be fairly high priced & therefore cost ineffective but while it lasted, the convienience of the grill/microwave was great but @ $500, it should have lasted more than 3 years.
The cheapo micro [generic/no name brands] & the oven grill seems to be the best options, usually available from most large appliance discount stores {such as ‘BigW’ [WalMart]} for us financially challenged!
